Flywheel Farm

Ansel Ploog and Justin Cote founded Flywheel Farm LLC in Woodbury in 2013 with the goal to create a farm that primarily serves local wholesale and regional markets on limited acreage. They focus on 5-10 vegetable crops each year which they sell to local food co-ops, institutions and a regional distributor, as well as direct to consumers at their farmstand on Rte 14 next to Woodbury Lake.

Justin and Ansel came to the VFF for a loan to help them with three projects: 1) the purchase of transplanters to help reduce the labor needed to get crops from the greenhouses out into the field, 2) the installation of a large capacity cistern to allow for irrigation of all fields on the farm, and 3) a small office cabin to provide lockable storage for tools and paperwork.
