Good Heart Farmstead

Good Heart Farmstead is a VFF returning borrower and recent recipient of a Business Builder Loan to help with the purchase and setup of the new Good Heart Farm Store in Worcester, VT. The new store will be a place where customer can get local goods year-round, including vegetables, eggs, meat, dairy, maple syrup…and even lattes. It’ll be a local foods grocery open 5 days a week, open to the entire community, and a location for their CSA pick-up.

Katie Spring and Edge Fuentes created Good Heart Farmstead in 2013 and became a certified Organic farm in 2016, with a mission to make local food accessible to everyone. They grow mixed vegetables, herbs, and flowers on 2 acres and it is all sold through a year round CSA, serving up to 120 families in the summer and fall seasons, and 80 families in winter and spring. All of their CSA sales are within 10 miles of the farm.

Edge is the head grower and field manager and works with a small field crew. He creates the field maps, plans seedings and successions, and the weekly CSA harvest and distributions.

Katie manages CSA communications, sales and marketing, social media, bookkeeping, and perennial and landscape management.
